Dragons, Giants and Heroes

Join Amanda from Merry-go-Round Storytelling as she brings tales of local dragons and long ago heroes to life with her usual high-energy interactive storytelling

Suitable for ages 4 plus.

This week we're learning all about fashion in the Iron Age. What did they wear? How did they make their clothes? How do we know? We've got examples of Iron Age clothes you can try on, and you can even have a go at making some fabric on one of our looms!

With a different theme each week, meet Iron Age characters, handle replica tools and weapons or learn how ancient communities cooked, crafted, and thrived long before modern life. From grinding grain to trying out simple weaving, you’ll get a feel for the everyday skills that shaped Iron Age Britain.

What to expect:

  • Interactive demonstrations revealing Iron Age crafts and techniques
  • Replica objects and artifacts to explore up close
  • Family‑friendly activities that bring ancient skills to life
  • Stories of Iron Age Britain, its people, and its remarkable ingenuity
  • Join us on a journey back through time; discover, explore, and experience the Iron Age in a whole new way.

Included with your ticket to the Museum of the Iron Age - Pay once, visit all year!
