Bark Container Workshop
Bark containers are one of, if not the oldest way to contain foodstuffs, liquids & other goods.
In this workshop we will be using methods and materials that span back thousands of years into pre-history to create a beautiful, strong & sustainable container from Birch Bark
This style of container is possibly Jack's favourite. No glue, no nails, no modern materials. An ingenuous method of making which involves clever finger tab joints and friction. An immensely satisfying experience.
A history of the use of bark, roots & wood, plus examples of harvesting, storing and working with these materials will lead us up to the main task of the day, creating your very own natural tupperware.
All tools & wood provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
Session: Wed 3 Aug, 10am-4pm
