Brighter Futures Programme Autumn 2024
Join Creative Designer & Author Becki Clark for a day embracing seasonal creative mindfulness learning the art of Brush Lettering.
Becki will introduce the mark making exercises to get everyone comfortable using the brush pen with tips on how to create different sized strokes and shapes. Becki will chat through how to turn marks into letterforms creating a brush lettered alphabet working step by step through each letter. Becki will then work through simple techniques for joining letters, tips for adding personal style to your lettering, flourishes and illustrative elements and confidently creating your own brush lettered print design. After Lunch, Becki will share how to use your new skill to create a range of seasonal crafts including gift tags, wrapping paper and a ceramic coaster, you’ll have chance to explore combining your lettering with paints, paint pens and collage.
The session is designed for complete beginners and you’ll enjoy a day embracing seasonal inspiration to get creative in a like-minded group.
This is a one-day course taking place on Tuesday 15 October 2024, 10am - 4pm.
ABOUT BRIGHTER FUTURES
Brighter Futures Courses are free of charge, and all materials will be provided. These courses are part of the Hampshire County Council Adult Community Learning Programme, Hampshire Learns. To be eligible for a course you must be 18+ years old, live in Hampshire and feel as though your mental health and wellbeing may benefit from attending a creative course.
