Brighter Futures Programme Spring 2025
Join Michele to discover how collage can support wellbeing by recording ‘celebratory’ moments in time, from simple gestures to more significant events. Also, learn how this illustrative technique can take away the ‘intimidation’ of a blank page but still present an artistic challenge. Create ‘everyday images’ with quirky twists, which hopefully stimulate viewers to question or imagine....or simply smile.
This course will take place in Milestones Museum’s new 1960s room set, the Memory Lounge. Themes will be centered around the 1960s and include everyday topics such as work and home life, holidays, leisure time and there will be a wide range of interesting items within the room to inspire your collage. Let the discussions of everyday life in the 1960s inspire your collage, and let you reflect on your own life and memories.
Having completed the workshop, you will be equipped with a ‘took kit’ of techniques and ideas to help you select and document images which are personally important to you, as well as a range of references that you can draw upon for future inspiration.
