Brighter Futures Programme Autumn 2024
Join us for this festive season ‘art for wellbeing’ workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to make air-dry clay tree decorations with a Scandinavian and eco theme as well as printing your own cards using wood blocks and water colour paints/crayons. All materials will be provided. This will be a session for sharing some of the pressures the Christmas period can bring as well as celebrating the joyful themes of the winter season, often to be found in nature and creativity. There will be different making options available and we will have the chance to chat and share creative time together. Please bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Working as an Artist and Educator myself, I encourage people to follow their own creative journey and to use art to dip into personal themes. My own work is autobiographical and started with a foundation at BCOT in my 40s as I was looking for a way to express myself and work through some life issues. Following a BA (hons) in Fine Art I now work in sculpture, paint, print and video whilst reaching out to the community to encourage those who may find art to be as powerful a medium for mental health as I do.
This course is split into two sessions, taking place on Wednesday 20 November and Friday 22 November, 11am - 2pm. You must attend both sessions.
*Please note that this course will be taking place on the top floor of The Willis Museum, which must be accessed via stairs. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause.
