Why do different plants need different types of soil to grow? How does cream turn into butter? And which fruit was so important in Hampshire that school holiday dates were changed so it could be harvested?

Discover the answers to these questions and more, plus enjoy activities, interactive fun and demonstrations as you find out how food has made its journey to our plates over the last 150 years at Field to Fork!

Throughout the summer holidays, you can have a go at milking our – model! – cow and discover just how important strawberries were to Hampshire in Victorian times with a strawberry trail around Milestones railway station. Have a go at planting crops that are native to England in our plant beds, see a 1939 land army tractor which was used in the Second World War and even turn your hand to churning butter.

In addition to these fantastic farming activities, which are all included in our standard admission price, help Farmer Ted find the things he has forgotten around the farm with our Farmer Ted’s Harvest Hunt trail at £3.00 per person, which includes a special reward at the end!
