Folk Orc in the Forest
Celebrating a decade of Folk Orc at Coda Music Trust
An orchestra of folk musicians, singing and playing a range of traditional instruments, arranging, rehearsing and performing traditional music, and writing original new music under the leadership of Chris Hopgood. Folk Orc began at Coda Music Centre in 2009 and has grown to incorporate regular sessions across the region, a workshop programme at folk festivals everywhere, and inspired an array of wonderful new groups and players to perform nationwide.
A session for anyone who plays an instrument and wants to join in. All ages and abilities are welcome and songs are randomly selected using a deck of cards from the Folk Orc Open Session Book Vol. 2. Play along, sing along, don’t worry if you find some parts hard to keep up with, just make some noise and have some fun!
Everyone welcome, and places are free but please book.
The afternoon is free to attend but voluntary donations to Coda Music Trust are welcome.
