Hecklers Comedy Club

Hecklers is the last and best independent comedy club in the area and it’s the heartbeat of our comedy scene.

The first time Sarah Millican, Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre and Daniel Kitson played Hecklers you didn’t know them, so if you spot a name you don’t yet know trust us. Our line-ups for the Autumn are:

DECEMBER LINE-UP:
Simon Brodkin
Matt Rees
Mike Sheer

Simon Brodkin
Named “the world’s most famous blagger” by The Daily Telegraph, untameable prankster and acclaimed character comedian Simon Brodkin has hit global headlines multiple times for his high-profile stunts. Most famously he handed Prime Minister Theresa May a P45 form during her keynote speech at the Conservative Party Conference and showered disgraced FIFA president Sepp Blatter with hundreds of dollar bills in bribe payments “for the North Korea 2026 World Cup bid”.

Of his many characters, Simon is best known for his irrepressible, south London wide boy Lee Nelson. With each of his Lee Nelson tours (Serious Joker, Suited & Booted, Lee Nelson’s Well Good Tour and Lee Nelson Live) being extended twice or more.

Matt Rees
Multi-award-winning Welsh comedian, Matt Rees, has generated a huge buzz on the circuit over the past few years with his unique brand of well-crafted gags and acerbic delivery earning him high praise from audiences and critics alike. Matt works across the board of the top UK clubs, such as The Comedy Store, Glee Club and The 99 Club and has also performed at the leading comedy/music festivals such as Latitude, Reading, Leeds, Green Man and the fantastically off-beat Welsh festival, Machynlleth Comedy Fest.

The rising star has won a whole host of awards including Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, Leicester Square Comedian of The Year, Welsh Unsigned Act of The Year and Loaded LAFTAs, as well as being nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer in 2012 which that same year also saw Matt perform as part of the prestigious Pleasance Reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Mike Sheer
Mike Sheer made his stand-up debut at a joke competition in 1985, 'defeating the other children and winning the first prize of a dollar bill'. He deals out colourful stories and strange truths with humour that jumps from light to dark. Mike is also a comic book writer, published short story writer, amateur film-maker, rapper, and actor. Originally from Toronto, Mike has shared his thoughts at clubs, pubs, events, and festivals in Australia, Canada, United States, and the UK.
