We are delighted to welcome and showcase a collection of artwork produced by young people from around the county who have engaged with the Horizon 20:20 Programme.
Working for five arts intervention days, directly with professional artists, the young people mastered different skills and processes to produce this collection of work which explores patterns, colours and materials inspired by nature. This work expresses their own personal responses to many of the themes found in the Lucienne Day: Living Design exhibition.
Horizon 20:20 is a four year arts-intervention programme to promote engagement in the arts for young people in non-mainstream education. Professional arts practitioners run regular sessions in seven Education Centres in Hampshire using arts and culture as a tool to increase confidence, to improve motivation to learn, to inspire positive behaviour and to give young people the chance develop empathy and teamwork, forming positive relationships with peers and adults.
Please note: the museum is closed from 24 December 2019 - 2 January 2020 inclusive.
