We are delighted to showcase artwork created by young people participating in the Horizon 20:20 More and Better programme.
This creative collection has been produced by young people from Hampshire Education Centres and captures the wide range of skills, techniques and art forms they have used to express themselves and their ideas.
Engaging in a diverse set of projects over five years, so far 800 young people have gained and mastered skills through unique access to high quality artists and inspiring cultural experiences. The resulting artworks are both accomplished and meaningful. This celebratory showcase gives audiences a chance to access and share in the participants’ incredible achievements.
Horizon 20:20 is an ongoing, ambitious and innovative partnership programme, developed over a period of five years both to increase access to and promote engagement in the arts for young people in non-mainstream education. Professional arts practitioners run regular sessions in seven Education Centres in Hampshire using arts and culture as a tool to increase confidence, improve motivation to learn, inspire positive behaviour and give young people the chance to develop empathy and teamwork, helping them to form positive relationships with their peers and adults.
The long term engagement and access to arts and culture have embedded creativity and arts in the seven centres, resulting in a positive impact on the young people who have participated.
