Brighter Futures Programme Summer 2025
Discover the magical world of children's book illustration in this four-part course, designed for aspiring illustrators, storytellers, and creative minds. Across four 2-hour sessions, we’ll explore the fundamentals of character design, expressive illustration, and visual storytelling, helping you bring your ideas to life on the page. From sketching lively characters to developing full spreads and vignettes, you’ll learn how to craft engaging illustrations that captivate young readers. Through guided exercises and concept development, we’ll also explore composition, pacing, and how to enhance storytelling through imagery.
With experience as both an author and illustrator, I have written and illustrated two children's books and contributed artwork to various others. My passion lies in creating characters that feel alive and building immersive worlds through expressive artwork. This course is perfect for anyone looking to explore illustration for the first time or refine their skills in a supportive and creative environment. Whether you dream of illustrating your own stories or simply want to experiment with new techniques, this course will give you the tools, inspiration, and confidence to start your illustration journey.
