Home Education Programme

William Morris (1834–1896) is celebrated for his timeless floral patterns, but his creativity was never a solo act. His wife Jane and daughter May were both remarkable artists who shaped his work and carried his vision forward. Together, they helped define the Arts & Crafts Movement. In this 5-week course, children will step into the world of the Morrises, blending history, nature studies, and a bit of mathematics through hands-on art and craft activities. Each week introduces a new creative challenge — from designing repeating patterns to exploring symmetry. Along the way, students will grow their artistic skills, be inspired by the beauty of handcrafted design, and gain a deeper appreciation of how art, math, and history intertwine. This course is designed to nurture creativity while encouraging problem-solving, collaboration, and confidence — all through the joy of making. It’s a fun, hands-on opportunity to develop artistic skills and imagination—plus, there’ll be plenty of time to socialise and make new friends along the way! These five sessions will be facilitated by Artist Educator and former Home Educator Veronica Williams. All materials will be provided.
