Jane Austen: The Chawton Years 1809-1817: A Talk by Janet Johnstone

A talk including readings from Jane Austen’s letters and family memoirs, illustrating how Jane Austen, her mother, sister Cassandra and friend Martha Lloyd passed their days while living at Chawton, near Alton.

The talk will discuss key Austen family events which contributed to her declining health and untimely death in 1817. 

Janet Johnstone is Stewards Manager at Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton.
