One of the most precious items in Hampshire Cultural Trust’s collection is a beautiful brown silk Pelisse, once belonging to Jane Austen.

The team at Hampshire Wardrobe have been hard at work creating a replica of the pelisse, doing as much as possible by hand, and discovering the good, the bad, and the ugly of Regency outerwear.

Join Dr Alex Walker as she introduces you to the replica, explains exactly what a pelisse is, and tells the story of how Jane’s came to be in the care of HCT.

The event is part of Hampshire Cultural Trust's Jane Austen 250 programme. Find out more here
