Keats in Winchester: Young People's Art Workshops

200 years ago, John Keats was inspired to write his best-loved poem To Autumn during a visit to Winchester. Now you can be inspired by Keats! We invite you to a free art workshop celebrating "The Seasons in Hampshire".

Working with an artist from The Colour Factory, you will get to create your own Keats-inspired artwork in one of three workshops on Tuesday 28 May:

  • For ages 4 - 7: ‘Colour & Collage’, 10am – 11am

Learn how to be a real artist and paint a colourful still life using patterned stencils and collaged fruits.

  • For ages 8 - 11: ‘Mixed Media Montage', 11.30am – 1pm
  • For ages 12 - 16: ‘Mixed Media Montage', 2pm – 3.30pm

Come and discover the art of Mixed Media painting using a whole range of artists materials and techniques. Create a colourful montage based around Keats and the seasons in Hampshire.

All workshops take place in the Learning Rooms at Winchester Discovery Centre.

Please note that in the workshop for 4-7 year olds all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Places are free, but pre-booking is necessary as places are limited. To book a place for your child (stating the specific workshop time), please contact Ross McGauran, Learning Manager at ross.mcgauran@hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk

These workshops are run in conjunction with Keats 200: A competition for young writers and artists.

Please note: these workshops will take place in the Learning Rooms at Winchester Discovery Centre
