Exercise your artistic and engineering skills, and learn some basics about the science of mechanical movement, in this creative technology workshop.
Using a mix of pre-made parts, chopsticks, a box and lots and lots of art and craft materials, you will make a moving toy or automaton that bursts into life at the turn of a handle.
Workshops take place on:
Thursday 23 August, 10.30-12.30 and 14.00 - 16.00
Thursday 30 August, 10.30 - 12.30 and 14.00 - 16.00
The ticket cost is per make, not per person. During the workshop you will be given a kit and shown how to make your own moving machine and resources will be provided so you can create your own characters. Younger children may work together on one automaton, however, we recommend the workshop for children aged 5+ supported by an adult. This is designed as a family workshop with children and adults working together, however, children aged 11+ may be unaccompanied.
