Hampshire Cultural Trust, in collaboration with Community First Gosport, is hosting a half day conference on the impact of volunteering as part of The National Lottery Heritage Fund's ‘Gosport Heritage Generator’ project. The heritage sector, as well as numerous not-for-profit organisations and community groups, depend significantly on volunteers and this conference aims to look at some of the challenges related to volunteering and explore the obstacles faced by both volunteers and organisations. The event will include keynote speakers, case studies, and workshops covering the following topics:

•            Volunteer Recruitment and Rention

•            Managing and Support

•            Diversity and Inclusion

We are very excited to be joing by our amazing keynote speaker, Dr Debra Gray. Dr. Gray is a senior lecturer in Social Psychology at the University of Winchester and the lead of the Volunteering Research Hub. Her research specifically focuses on volunteering and community action, and she has a specific interest in how volunteering helps build community resilience and wellbeing. She will also be holding a Q & A towards the end of the conference. There will also been light snacks and refreshments avaialble throughout the day.

The conference caters to both organisations seeking to place volunteers and those aiming to recruit volunteers. We encourage organisations to bring banners leaflets and other promotional materials to the event if able to.
