Join artist Mark Jones at the City Space to celebrate the opening of his exhibition Mapping the Familiar at the City Space.
Hampshire-based artist and printmaker Mark creates contemporary linocut prints and paintings rooted in suburban life, local history, and the everyday rhythms of British community life. Drawing on a background in painting, printmaking, and sculpture, his work blends research with lived experience, evolving through an intuitive process of sketching, carving, and inking.
Inspired by daily walks, cycling routes, and the landscapes of Hampshire, Mark’s artwork explores place, memory, and connection, often featuring recurring motifs such as neighbourhood streets and dog walkers
