Mindscapes is an exhibition of works by artist Kim Cody.
Kim Cody's artworks are presented as items in their own right, the product of an individual’s own personal experience and interpretation of the world. Kim has exhibited extensively in the U.K. and northern France and has work in collections world wide.
As she writes, "the human imagination is one of the most valuable assets we posses and is what makes a work of art truly unique."
"Painting is but another way of feeling “ John Constable. 1776 - 1837
About the artist:
Kim Cody BA, ATD, Cert.Ed. trained in the 1960s at Guildford School of Art, Maidstone College of Art and Leicester University.
Having taught art and design for thirty five years to earn a living she retired early to concentrate on her own practice. She moved to Brittany where she lived and worked for twelve years before returning to the U.K. in 2014.
Kim now lives in Farnham, Surrey and has a studio in the nearby village of Wrecclesham. Her paintings are purely abstract and have no intentional moral, ideological or political meaning although inevitably all art reflects the time in which it is made. The artist’s anxieties, observations, thoughts and fears are embedded within the work. Kim’s paintings are composed of divisions and layers of contrasting tones, textures and colours informed by studies, photographs and drawings made out in the landscape and built environment.
Throughout her career Kim has explored both traditional, representational ways of working and more experimental and intuitive methods. Her aim is to present her artworks as items in their own right, as the product of an individual’s own personal experience of the world.
