Needle Felting for Wellbeing – a 10-hour course set over 4 weeks where you can focus upon improving your positive mental wellbeing by learning to ‘sculpt with wool’ and create a beautiful seasonal 3D blue tit perched upon a pumpkin.

Your tutor, Carol Scicluna a local needle felt artist, will show you step by step the techniques of layering and blending natural sheep wool fibres to form the basic body shape, head and wings for the bird and will share all of the tips and tricks you need to create the pumpkin and will be on hand to help you all the way!

Needle felting uses special barbed needles that catch the wool fibres as they are repeatedly poked slowing building a 3D wool sculpture. During this course, as well as learning to needle felt, you may find yourself making friendly connections with other Learners as you chat, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst working alongside with others.

You might decide to apply this new craft just for your own enjoyment, start making or selling gifts for others or explore other needle felting techniques. Either way, being able to work with natural fibres, lovely colours and feeling a sense of accomplishment are benefits that other learners have said contribute to their wellbeing.
