Our new regular Thursday music nights are an opportunity to enjoy some of the best of what our region has to offer, from the very local to those from only slightly further afield. With sometimes one, two or three acts on the schedule, and presented in a safe and friendly environment, we hope that you’ll enjoy the company of long standing Ashcroft Arts favourites or find something new to love.
This week’s ine-up features...
Three hardy and feisty lasses singing original songs baked with folk and blues, elements of playful obscurity and close harmonies. Lively, rhythmical and at times, positively bizarre... they’ve been fittingly rambunctious at Festivals such as Wilderness, Camp Bestival and Glastonbury.
"Spine tingling close harmonies acapella." Facebook user
"Polly Gone Wrong, you smashed, rocked and blew us away with your powerful soulful voices. You bombastic beauties…stunning sound sirens.” Facebook user
Three songwriters in their own right, they are singer and virtuoso guitarist Mark Allen, soul vocalist and percussionist Jack Cryer and rhythm man with a dreamy voice Matt Hodgson.
Together they have enjoyed many intimate and soulful gigs, with their close harmonies and original songs, bringing audiences to tears (good tears!). Their style is part folk, blues and soul.
“One of the most life-affirming, chilled-out gigs I’ve been to.” Fringe Review
Event: Thursday 22 October, 7.30pm
