Saturday 21 September 10:30am - 4:30pm
Design and make a collection of beautiful Silver Stacking Rings that you can leave wearing or give as a gift (if you know the ring size needed)! You will be introduced to Piercing (sawing) and Soldering, the two must haves for the creation of jewellery. The Tutor will help you build on the skills you learn over the day covering shaping, filing, texturing, stamping and finishing your pieces to a lovely polished shine. A set amount of Silver wire and sheet is supplied with the cost of the course allowing you to mix and match the styles and thicknesses of the rings you create. There will be a 30 minute break for lunch so please bring some food with you. The feeling of wearing something you've created, or giving it as a gift knowing you made it is really hard to beat. Making Jewellery is creatively challenging and a fun activity to try. The possibilities are endless!
The tutor is Alex Twin. Alex is a practising Silver jeweller who now runs her own business after spending the last 9 years working within the jewellery industry. She worked for Links of London for many years as their engraver but now loves working from her own bench in her shed! (It's a very nice shed). She likes nothing more than making jewellery from scratch and wants to spread the joy of just how satisfying hitting silver with hammers and soldering with gas torches can be - the possibilities are endless!
