Summer 19 - Theatreworks

3 May - 19 July (no session 31 May)

THEATREWORKS...Oh, yes it does!

You may not discover your inner Judy Dench or Lenny Henry but you could have a lot of fun! You may also feel much more relaxed and confident after a couple of hours a week in this very diverse group.

Yes, we do explore how characters can be developed in plays and sketches but more importantly we find how we can use the techniques to build personal confidence which can be put to use in everyday life. A safe haven is created with the help and skills of drama coach Jackie Goddard, where people can say and do whatever they feel comfortable with. And, they can be as daft as they want through improvisation, fun and cooperation!

The age range of the ‘company’ is as diverse as our personalities, currently we span THREE generations, but we all contribute equally and are listened to.

Please come along to Forest Arts on a Friday morning and give it a try.

‘The group is not just about confidence and creativity but about playing. Inevitably, as adults we are so distracted by the mundane that we forget to play or even realise that playing at our age is allowed. Theatreworks gives you the permission.’ Jacqueline Goddard.

We play with characters, improvisation, scripts and different types of theatre practice, like Stanislavski and verbatim, all challenging and fun. The emphasis is on enjoying the process rather than the end performance, meeting like-minded people, improving your confidence and enhancing your well-being.
