An introduction to the art of backstrap weaving - a traditional, loom-free process where you will learn how to construct a beautiful wall-hanging or table runner.
Following the highly positive feedback from our first weaving workshop in October, we are delighted to run this popular session again, led by volunteer and member of the Hampshire Weavers Guild, Karen Parkin. Learn this tactile and engaging way of weaving, with tips and tricks to create your own projects at home. Places limited to only 6 per workshop. Please book in advance using the link below.
Accessibility - please note the session will run in our upstairs craft area.
Open to adults (£15, or £12 unwaged) and older children, aged 8+ (£12)
Parent/carer and child groups welcome (please book per participant).
Please note, this workshop will take place in our UPSTAIRS craft space. This can only be accessed via the stairs. If you have any queries on the workshop or accessibility please contact allen.gallery@hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk.
During the session you will be seated and will be given a short length of string to go round your middle back.
