Are you passionate about music but unsure how to start writing your own songs? Join our "Write a Song in a Day" workshop, led by seasoned songwriter and guitar tutor James Uings.

With nearly 30 years of experience, James has written for major music publications such as Total Guitar, Computer Music, and Guitar Techniques. His expertise also extends to composing and producing for the Rockschool Syllabus, and he's contributed to various artistic projects, including children's books and writing songs for a range of artists. James brings his vast knowledge and practical skills to guide you through this creative journey.

During this immersive workshop, you'll work on crafting your own simple song from scratch. We'll cover essential songwriting elements, such as song structure, generating lyrical ideas, and basic music theory. This hands-on experience is designed to inspire you and give you the confidence to continue songwriting long after the course ends.

To make the most of the day, bring a notebook to jot down your ideas, a phone to record your progress, and if you play an instrument, don't forget to bring it along!

By the end of the course, you'll have written your own song and gained valuable skills that will enable you to write more songs of increasing complexity. Whether you're a beginner or someone looking to sharpen your songwriting abilities, this course will provide you with the tools to take your music to the next level. Embark on your songwriting journey with us—no prior experience necessary!

This is a one-day course taking place on Saturday 5 October 2024, 10am-4pm.
