The National Lottery supports good cause projects in the areas of arts, education, environment, health, heritage, sport and community. Over the past 28 years, National Lottery players have raised more than £46 billion for projects which are making a huge difference to lives of people and communities throughout the whole of the UK.
To celebrate Hampshire Cultural Trust is participating in the National Lottery Open Week and saying #ThanksToYou.
Every week National Lottery players raise over £30 million for good cause projects, like ours. That's why we’re pleased to be taking part in National Lottery Open Week, which celebrates the contribution of National Lottery players in supporting good causes over the past 28 years.
To thank National Lottery players for their support, we have a the following activities available:
- 25 and 26 March at Aldershot Military Museum - Free craft activities as well as free entry into the museum for children and young people aged 5-15 years. You can find out more information here.
- 25 March at Allen Gallery - Free tour of the Allen Gallery and the opportunity to participate in a drawing session afterwards. You can find out more information here.
Anyone who presents any National Lottery ticket (digital or physical), scratchcard, or Instant Win Game, on these dates will be able to take up this special offer. Our projects
As a recipient of National Lottery funding, Hampshire Cultural Trust has been able to deliver a wide range of projects which help change lives through culture.
Below is a list of some current and past projects which National Lottery players have helped make possible:
Current
Allen Gallery, Alton (Development phase) - this project aims to redesign and reinterpret the gallery’s nationally significant ceramic collection, create multi-use community spaces, establish a clearer visible link between the gallery and the garden, and develop a new engagement programme aimed at attracting currently under-served community groups.
ICE Heritage, county-wide - this project is a collaboration between Hampshire Cultural Trust and Hampshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. It aims to use the arts as a positive way for young people to acquire skills and express themselves with a resulting positive impact on both their psychological health and emotional wellbeing and aims to address and explore important mental health issues in young people by creatively engaging with local heritage. Young people on our ten week programmes explore themes such as identity and self-care and build emotional resilience through participating in creative activity.
Heritage Innovation Fund (Explore: Hampshire Cultural Trust) – one of 35 organisations nationwide that are working together to help make the heritage sector’s workforce fit for the future.
Past
Industrious Minds (Eastleigh) - an 18-month project working with young people to engage with the industrial heritage of Eastleigh, with a focus on environmental impact.
Still Curious (Christchurch) - a project which focused on increasing the accessibility and enjoyment of the local heritage for people with dementia and their carers by creating new dementia-friendly programmes of activities.
Block2block: New Milton in Minecraft (New Milton) - this project created an innovative digital museum encompassing aspects of local social and oral history from World War II to the present day.
My Gosport (Gosport) - a NLHF Young Roots project that worked with young people in Gosport to explore and creatively reinterpret the history of their local area.
