Looking for a volunteering role that allows you to have a regular, meaningful impact?

Our regular volunteering roles are just that: an opportunity to get involved as a vital part of either our venue or wider teams. You could be working in one of our museums supporting operations or keeping the site looking its best, or you may prefer to be behind the scenes supporting the creation of our exhibitions or caring for our collections. There are roles where you can support the delivery of our essential social impact programmes that improve health and wellbeing through culture. If you have a specialist skill or knowledge to share, you could get involved as a specialist volunteer, helping us use your expertise in key aspects of our work. Although these are regular opportunities, we are always happy to discuss flexibility and fitting these roles around you.

I like meeting and working with likeminded people who share their enthusiasm, dedication and skills gained whilst volunteering, helping to give a excellent customer experience.

Your volunteering journey

1. Application

First is your application. Find the role best suited to you and your interests, then select the right team or venue for you and apply. We’ll ask some important details and information to help us ensure you can volunteer safely and effectively before we get in touch.

2. Catch-up

We'll be in touch within 10 working days of receiving your application. You’ll then have a brief chat with the volunteer lead for either the venue or team you would like to work with, so that they can understand what you’re looking to get out of volunteering and the role you have applied for. They'll also give you some insight into what it's like to volunteer with us. This is a friendly chat so that we can get to know you and your interests and see how we can fit volunteering around you.

3. Checks

We’ll complete some basic checks and sign-ups so that you’re ready to volunteer with us. This will include an ID check and where it's applicable, we may need other checks such as a DBS. We'll discuss full details of the checks we need to make with you in the catch-up.

4. Induction

You're nearly there! Before your first day, you’ll have an induction and onboarding session to take you through all aspects of the location where you're volunteering. You’ll also have some online training relevant to your role to complete. You will have the chance to join us at our main offices in Winchester for one of our regular central induction sessions, although this is optional.

5. Day one

Your volunteering with Hampshire Cultural Trust begins! You’ll have access to training, development and a variety of exciting volunteering opportunities across Hampshire. This is the start of your part in helping us to change lives through culture.
