Our home education programmes offer a welcoming, creative space for young people aged 6-14 years who are learning outside of mainstream school. Designed to be flexible and inclusive, these sessions provide opportunities to connect, learn and create in a supportive environment tailored to a range of educational needs.

We run home education sessions across several of our venues, covering a wide variety of topics, including hands-on arts and crafts to more educational themes in science and history. Previous sessions have included Dinosaurs and Beyond, and Darwin and Evolution, offering engaging, educational content in an interactive setting. These educational programmes can be found on our learning programme website: Home education | HCT Learning Programme

Our arts-based programmes are led by experienced local artists and educational facilitators. This year, we've delivered a ten week printmaking course where young people explored techniques such as lino printing, gelli printing, and screen printing. We also ran a five week programme at The Willis Museum, combining art with exploration of the museum's collections, encouraging creativity and inspiration through our historical objects and exhibitions.

Upcoming arts-based programmes:

Whether it is exploring scientific ideas, getting hands-on with art materials, or bringing history to life through creativity, our home education programmes are designed to spark curiosity and support a wide range of learning styles. Each session encourages young people to discover, experiment and express themselves in ways that are meaningful and enjoyable.
