Concession and discounted tickets are available at our admission charging museums and for exhibitions at our galleries where there is an entry charge. Prices and discounts vary at our arts centres, where ticket prices may be controlled by external promoters or third parties.

Concessions

Concession tickets can either be pre-booked online or bought when you visit.

Concessions are available for the following visitors:

  • Students aged 16+
  • British military personnelDocuments valid for proof of eligibility: current Defence Discount Service card, military ID or veteran military ID
  • Senior citizens of state pension age (66 years old and over as of 1 December 2020)
  • Disabled people:
    • In addition to a concession discount, disabled people are also entitled to free entry for one accompanying personal assistant (carer)
    • If a disabled person requires more than one personal assistant (carer), the additional personal assistant(s) (carer{s}) is/are also entitled to free entry. If more than one personal assistant (carer) will be visiting, please contact the venue in advance so that we can accommodate your needs.
  • Those in receipt of Universal Credit. Documents valid for proof of eligibility: letter from DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) confirming the award of Universal Credit or your most recent Universal Credit statement

You may be asked to show proof that you qualify for a concession when you visit us, please bring relevant identification or appropriate documents with you.

Discounts and offers

Discounts are available on museum admissions for the following visitors:

  • Families: up to five people; maximum two adults, children aged 5 – 15 years
  • Children aged 5-15 years
  • Children under 5 : free entry
  • National Art Pass/Art Fund Members
    • Are entitled to 50% discount on adult or concession prices
    • For entry to our museums, tickets can be purchased at the venue only and cannot be pre-purchased online. Proof of current membership is required when you purchase your ticket
    • For entry to charged exhibitions at our galleries, tickets can be purchased both online and at the venue. Proof of current membership is required when you visit the exhibition if you buy your ticket online or at the point of purchase when you buy your ticket at the gallery
  • Museum Association members
    • Are entitled to free entry
    • Please bring proof of current membership when you visit

Discounts and ticket prices may vary for some ticketed events or experiences, seasonal or special promotions, where a one-off rate may apply.  Please see individual events for details.

Groups and schools

Discounted prices for groups and schools are available for parties of 15 or more. Personal assistants (carers) entitled to a free ticket do not count towards the minimum number of 15 people required to form a group.
