In 2023, Hampshire Cultural Trust (HCT) became a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) for Arts Council England.

Funded through to 2026, HCT has joined the portfolio to help increase arts and cultural engagement in three of Hampshire's priority places: Gosport, New Forest and Rushmoor.

Our work in these regions is centred around three key objectives:

  • To increase the number of people enjoying arts and culture. This ambition will see us directly delivering programmes - both in our venues and out in the community with partners - that are designed to help local people engage with arts and culture for the first time (or the first time in a long time!).
  • To support local individuals, groups and organisations to build the reach and quality of their work. In this role, we are here to help support growth and development through giving advice, facilitating connections, supporting funding bids and information sharing. If you'd like to talk to our team about your work in a priority place, you can book an appointment here
  • To be a proud advocate for the long-term future of arts and culture in priority places. Working closely with local and national partners, we aim to secure a sustainable future for arts and culture in these regions by influencing the shape of longer-term planning and priorities.
