Professional hire

We hire costumes to a wide range of theatre groups, media companies and corporate professionals. Make us your first destination and you’ll be surprised that our collection offers so much choice whilst costing you much less than our competitors. We also offer free fitting off-site to accommodate busy schedules. Private hire FAQs

How does it work?

A private hire appointment is designed for one or two people to view and try on costumes of your chosen theme or era. During your appointment, our experienced team will select three to four outfits for you to try on, using the information you provide when booking your appointment.

When you book an appointment you will be asked to provide as much information as possible about what you are looking for, what size you need, what colour and style you prefer and what your budget is. With the exception of footwear, accessories cannot be tried on during the appointment. When trying on footwear, please bring your own socks or we can provide pop socks for you. Please arrive on time for your appointment, with regret we may have to refuse you admission should you arrive late.

How much does it cost?

We have a minimum spend of £10 and items are priced individually so you can tailor your look accordingly. We take a holding deposit refundable upon return, subject to terms and conditions. Full hire payment must be paid upon collection.

How long does an appointment last?

Appointments typically last for 45 minutes for up to two people. If you require a longer appointment please get in touch with us. 

Who can attend?

Only individuals intending to hire a costume can attend the appointment, with a maximum of two people per appointment. With regret we cannot allow any guests not intending to hire.

Do I need to book a collection/return?

Yes. You can book your collection and return appointments at the time of your first appointment or by using the 'book appointment' tab on our website.

Do I need to clean my costume before returning?

Please do not clean your costume, cleaning is included in your hire charges. We ask that you place all items worn next to the skin in the bags provided. Any specialist cleaning required from specific damage will be charged for accordingly.

Professional hire FAQs

How does it work?

We run by appointment for browsing and selecting costumes and accessories. Items can be reserved for up to eight weeks before a production with free overnight fittings.

Who can attend?

A maximum of two people can attend an appointment.

How much does it cost?

Can actors try things on and what happens if garments need adjusting?

We are unable to fit actors on site but production costumes can be taken for an overnight fitting for free. Costumes can be altered, tailored and even made in-house for an additional fee.

Do I need to book a return/collection appointment?

Yes. You can book your collection and return appointments at the time of your first appointment, or using the 'book appointment' tab on our website.

Do I need to clean the costumes before returning?

Do you provide an education discount?

Yes. We offer a 10% discount for registered schools and universities.

Do you provide discount for long term hires?

Yes, we offer the following discount for costumes that are hired for longer than one week:
1 week = Full price, 2 - 5 weeks = 50% discount, 6+ weeks = 75% discount

Workshops, talks and tours

Unfortunately we cannot offer any workshops, talks or tours at this time. We look forward to resuming these activities in the future and thank all our customers for understanding.
