Orla Kiely is one of the UK and Ireland’s most successful fashion and lifestyle designers.
Her stylised plant based patterns are innovative, influential and instantly recognisable. With enchanting applications, her flat, graphic style and choice of colour palette resonate with a nostalgia for vintage style and interiors. Inspired by the upbeat exuberance of the 1960s, a love of Irish and Scandinavian architecture and mid-century design, Kiely’s designs have grown from humble beginnings in the 1990s to become a global phenomenon.

Holding an audience in thrall to the rhythms and repeats of her designs, this exhibition explores Kiely’s creative output and the power of decoration to transform the way we feel. The display will include carefully selected key pieces from the exhibition, originally organised and presented at The Fashion and Textile Museum, London – including the ‘handbag wall’. With unique access to company archives, we delve into the designer’s world and feature an array of her iconic designs.
