This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to slow down, connect with your creative side, and learn a new skill.
The introduction will discuss our relationship with pattern and colour, looking at examples of textiles, photographs, and books for inspiration.
Discussion will flow organically but can cover natural dyes, traditions of block printing and emotional memory and how it can connect with pattern.
The tutor will guide how to carve your own simple design into first a potato and then progressing onto lino.
Once cut there will be the chance to 'play', experimenting by turning, repeating, and overlapping the pattern to see what beautiful compositions can be created.
Skill level: Manual dexterity is required as you will be using a sharp lino cutter so not suitable for children
Workshop times: 10am - 4pm
