HCT 2030: A strategy for growth
Our 2030 strategy sets out our ambition to create a sustainable, long-term model for delivering culture in our region.
This ambition is articulated through five themes and four priority areas for investment and focus.
Our five themes that will guide our business planning and define the actions we take to deliver our mission and goals are:
- All about place
- Strength in diversity
- Leadership through collaboration
- One million customers
- Proudly commercial
Our four priority areas for investment and focus form an essential foundation on which our organisation can thrive and grow:
- Children and young people
- Our collections
- Our people
- Climate action
By using these five themes to shape our business plan and investing to make positive change in the four priority areas, we are confident that we can achieve our overarching ambition of building a sustainable model for culture in our region by 2030.

On 7 November 2024, our chief executive Paul Sapwell launched our HCT 2030 strategy at a special event at Milestones Museum, alongside a celebration of the first 10 years of Hampshire Cultural Trust. His launch speech can be viewed on this video.
This strategy builds on the solid foundations of our first decade in operation as an independent charity. Here is a glimpse of what we have achieved so far.
