This partnership project between Hampshire Cultural Trust and Fostering Hampshire Children celebrates creative and inspirational children and young people across Hampshire.
The project brings together artwork created by children and young people to celebrate their creativity and share their stories and aspirations. Over a series of eight workshops, children aged 4 – 17 years old and their fostering families, have been working with professional artists in Forest Arts Centre (New Forest), Westbury Manor Museum (Fareham), Andover Museum and Museum of the Iron Age and Milestones Museum (Basingstoke). They learnt new skills working in ceramics, textiles, mark making and colourful collage to create their own unique pieces that represent their aspirations, what they enjoy and what makes them happy.
This exhibition has been made in partnership between Fostering Hampshire Children and Hampshire Cultural Trust to celebrate the creative and inspirational children and young people. Throughout 2023 – 2024 this exhibition is touring around Hampshire alongside the #openyourdoor campaign.
“These creative sessions have been so much fun and a great way for foster families to come together in our friendly museums and be creative. It was really lovely seeing the families come in and the children increase in confidence, help each other and relax whilst making some beautiful artwork for the exhibition.”
