Cobbles and Cogs returns in 2026 with a globetrotting steampunk adventure inspired by Around the World in 80 Days - the classic novel by Jules Verne.
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026.
Expect a weekend filled with music, games, spectacle and immersive steampunk experiences. Don your top hats and time-travelling goggles and join the fun!
Spice up your outfits with colour and international inspiration. It's also the first day of spring so a great chance to celebrate all things floral as we bud into 2026!
Use your phone to take photos for your 'photo passport' as you journey around the museum and the destinations highlighted in the novel. Buy unique gifts from our curated market. Join in the art of tea duelling, the fun of tea pot racing and try your skills at the Nerf shoot out.
Our parade starts at 2pm on both days, followed by a street party at Victoria gardens. On Saturday the party features Reivers' Gallows. At Sunday's party, Frankie Heartless and the Heartless Rogues take to the stage.
Of course a Cobbles and Cogs highlight is always our unique steampunk event 'One night in the Museum', this year showcasing the steampunk bands: Anti Poet, Sonic 909, The Cain pit and our regular favourites - Victor and the Bully.
