Are you passionate about music but unsure how to start writing your own songs? Join our "Write a Song in a Day" workshop, led by seasoned songwriter and guitar tutor James Uings. With nearly 30 years of experience, James has written for major music publications such as Total Guitar, Computer Music, and Guitar Techniques. His expertise also extends to composing and producing for the Rockschool Syllabus, and he's contributed to various artistic projects, including children's books and writing songs for a range of artists. James brings his vast knowledge and practical skills to guide you through this creative journey.  

 

What you'll learn: 

  • craft your own simple song from scratch
  • essential songwriting elements such as song structure, generating lyrical ideas, and basic music theory
  • confidence to continue songwriting
  • form a song from concepts, thoughts and feelings

To make the most of the day, bring a notebook to jot down your ideas, a phone to record your progress, and if you play an instrument, don't forget to bring it along!
