Mini Archaeology Dig Pits
Roll up your sleeves and excavate hidden objects from our mini dig pits. Learn how archaeologists carefully uncover and record finds from the ground.
Try an Iron Age Loom
Step back over 2,000 years and have a go on a recreated Iron Age loom. Learn how people in the past made cloth from simple materials, and discover the skill and patience needed to weave fabric by hand. This tactile activity offers a brilliant insight into everyday life in the Iron Age and gives children the chance to try a traditional craft for themselves.
Designed for families with children, this drop‑in event blends learning with imagination and play. No prior knowledge needed, just enthusiasm, curiosity and a sense of adventure. Can you solve the mystery and earn your place in the Time Detective Agency? Come and find out at the Museum.
