From Saturday 25 September to Sunday 31 October, the Allen Gallery in Alton will host the new Ceramicus 2021 exhibition. The exhibition is free to visit and will showcase works from 10 local potters and a sculptor who form the Ceramicus group.

Ceramicus was formed in 2010, and have since exhibited across Hampshire and Surrey in various venues, including City Space in Winchester and the Allen Gallery in Alton, both operated by Hampshire Cultural Trust. The group are delighted to be returning to the Allen Gallery following their previous successful visits in 2014, 2017 and 2019.

The exhibitors have each developed their own techniques and demonstrate individual expression of artistic form in their work. The style of works vary, from throwing and hand-building to sculpting – firing methods include wood, gas, electric as well as Raku and smoke firing.

Visitors are welcome to visit the exhibition, browse the works and learn about some of the techniques used to create them. The works in the exhibition are also for sale and make excellent Christmas gifts for friends and family.

The potters will all be at the Allen Gallery on the exhibition’s opening morning of 25 September from 10:30am - 12pm, to meet with visitors and answer questions based on their works and craft.

The Allen Gallery is operated by Hampshire Cultural Trust, an independent charity set up in 2014 to promote Hampshire as a county that offers outstanding cultural experiences to both its residents and visitors.
