Hampshire Cultural Trust is sprinkling festive cheer at Milestones Living History Museum and Basing House in Basingstoke this Christmas season. Get into the spirit with two Christmas markets in the lead up to the big day, the perfect chance to get all the Christmas shopping done early, while enjoying some festive treats. 

Christmas fayre at Basing House - Basingstoke RG24 8AE

Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November, 11am-4pm.

At Basing House, the majestic Tudor Barn will be decorated for a wonderfully festive shopping experience, with over 30 stalls offering locally made crafts, produce and gifting ideas to browse and buy. Mulled wine and festive treats will also be available. 

On Saturday, visitors can enjoy a Nativity scene with animals from Mill Cottage Farm and on Sunday, re-enactors from the Marquess of Winchester Regiment will be setting up a Tudor Christmas scene and interacting with visitors. Throughout the weekend, visitors can tuck into tasty treats at our food stall located outdoors.

Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied. £3.50 per person (under 5s go free). Pre-booking advised. Please note that Basing House standard admission ticket is not valid for this event. Christmas fayre tickets are valid for the day of booking only.

 

Christmas market at Milestones Museum - Basingstoke, RG22 6PG

Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 December, 10:00am-4:45pm

Visitors to Milestones Museum on the first weekend in December are invited to explore independent market stalls, children’s entertainment, festive treats and Christmas music on the over the two-day annual Christmas market.  On Saturday at 2pm, visitors can enjoy live music from The Bluestockings. Stalls will be selling seasonal gifts and treats throughout the museum and the award-winning Milestones shop provides the perfect place to for visitors to find a unique gift for a friend or loved one. 

As well as the Christmas market, visitors to Milestones can enjoy cobbled streets decorated for the season, children can help Father Christmas find his lost reindeer with a special Reindeer Spotter trail around the museum, while the smell of mulled wine and the taste of mince pies will transport adults into the atmosphere of a perfect Christmas.

All ages, children must be accompanied. £6 per person (under 5s go free). Pre-booking required. Please note that a Milestones standard admission ticket is not valid for this event. Ticket is valid for one day only and cannot be used to regain entry.
