SEARCH hands-on centre brings learning to life for schools, groups, families and the local community by providing exciting encounters with real museum collections.

SEARCH is a unique venue full of artefacts and specimens. We offer a very flexible resource and deliver real and relevant learning sessions for all age groups using our well-equipped science spaces and historic room sets. SEARCH is not just about history and science. We also have a wealth of resources that inspire creativity, art and literacy to encourage the development of skills and knowledge in all topics.

Our facilities are mainly available to pre-booked groups only, but look out for our family days and holiday workshops, when SEARCH is open to everyone.

Access

There is public car parking near SEARCH, including disabled spaces close to the building’s entrance. There is a separate level entrance to the ground floor, a lift to the first floor, accessible toilet and a portable hearing loop. More details are available at disabledgo.com.
